Quinta Dona Leonor

Quinta Dona Leonor has a family identity of several generations and is located on a halfway slope in Remostias Valley, Peso da Régua.

Old documents say this Quinta was once property of Convento de Salzeda’s monks, owners of other land in Santa Marta de Penaguião.

Braz Fernandes family bought the estate in the 19th century. On the 2nd half of the century it was owned by 3 sisters, who remained single for their lives.

The older sister, Leonor, became the matriarch and ruled the house and the vineyards.

In the early 1900’s, her niece Maria do Céu Braz de Magalhães inherited the estate, which  belongs, today, to Dona Leonor’s great – nephew Carlos Fernando Braz de Magalhães.
